The Legend of Zelda is one of those things that will remain of our culture for years and years. Coupled with new releases and storyline continuations, creative minds from all over the world will weave familiar bits of it into our lives. Maybe as a silly t-shirt, or an internet meme, or maybe memorabilia that we purchase. While we might not all be ready to hang Link’s shield up in our office, the creative team at The Game Station have gifted us with a three part YouTube series depicting the Legend of Zelda as though it were a western.

Take a look at all three parts of A Fistful of Rupees. You won’t want to miss these.

While the blend of western era pistols and boomerangs threw me off a bit, A Fistful of Rupees was a fun way to tell one of the tales of Link as he silently seeks revenge on “Colonel Gannon”. The flick also incorporated some famous Western moments, like the makeshift bulletproof chestplate and several one liner adaptations from classic western cinema.

As far as mashups go this was really well done, and gave me an incredible urge to spend my next weekend playing Ocarina of Time.
