First BlackBerry London leaked image appears

blackberry london First BlackBerry London leaked image appears

RIM‘s 2012 roadmap was purportedly leaked recently, and it didn’t look like there was going to be a flood of thrilling hardware flowing out of Waterloo. Of course, no one particular had truly seen any of the company’s as-however-unreleased handsets. Not till now, that is: the all-touch BlackBerry London has been pictured in a leaked presentation slide.

The telephone looks like a quantity Android phones on the market place with its flat black chassis and rounded corners (I’m reminded a tiny of my trusty old HTC Incredible minus the red accents). The London supposedly leaked just before as a dummy unit, even though that version sported a silver face with sharply angled corners like the Porsche Design BlackBerry. When it launches — possibly later this year — the BlackBerry London will function BlackBerry ten. As RIM’s first QNX-powered smartphone, it tends to make good sense that the London takes some design cues from the BlackBerry PlayBook.

I’m going to assume that the phone lying down is also the London, even though there’s either a perspective problem or the designers forgot to pop in the bit of the phone that need to be sticking out past the back of the unit that’s standing up. Otherwise, there’s a second, considerably a lot more stout telephone in the image as nicely.

So, what about the BlackBerry London hardware? The rumor mill claims that RIM is looking at both the TI OMAP5 platform as nicely as Qualcomm’s chips. There’s also a front-facing camera on the slide image, but this is nevertheless just a leaked render for the time becoming. Things could change drastically by the time this phone hits retail shelves, and it could all be down to what RIM’s new CEO considers a “perfect” device that is really ready for sale.

Scosche cellCONTROL Blocks Dangerous Cell Phone Use While Driving

January 20th, 2012
by: Shane McGlaun

This is a single of the stranger tech goods I have seen in a long time. It comes from Scosche and is called cellCONTROL. The notion is that you plug the dongle into the OBD-II port below the dash of any vehicle from 1996 up, and then put an app on your mobile phone. The app and hardware perform in conjunction to guarantee you can’t use the phone even though driving.

Scosche says that when the dongle senses the car moving it will block all sorts of things on the telephone such as texting, e-mail, voice calls, the camera, and a lot more. It is also supposed to still enable voice calls if it detects a handsfree headset. The thought is that it will avoid the driver from making use of the phone and being a hazard or just pissing the rest of us off. Too negative it can’t block idiots that read or put on makeup even though driving too.

I see a couple concerns with the $ 129.95 gadget although. The 1st factor is if you occur to roll your auto and the wheels maintain spinning how would you call for assist? The second is that you have to be operating an app on the mobile for the device to operate, and the third thing is that all the driver has to do is unplug the OBD-II dongle to foil the system (although it will notify you through e-mail if it is removed or deactivated.) The method also does not list iPhone compatibility, even though it functions with Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and other individuals.
