Bobblehead dolls are so passé. Papercraft, that’s the future of creating tiny effigies — especially ones of yourself.

Foldable.me is an almost-in-beta service that gives users the opportunity to create cube-shaped avatars of themselves out of paper, then ship those papercraft representations via mail (snail mail, not e-mail). The figures arrive flat, but are scored and creased so friends and family members can fold their very own version without scissors or glue.

Each foldable stands 8.5cm tall and will set you back $ 11 with free shipping. When the service hits beta, shipping will take approximately two to three weeks.

Unfortunately, the service isn’t taking orders just yet. The site is securing money via Kickstarter. The funding will pay for tooling and production of the first run and be used to add additional colors and facial expressions to the service.

Now if only they had a way to create papercraft versions of your pets.
