Gadget Lab Show: WWDC Expectations and the Toshiba Excite 13
This week on the Gadget Lab Show, the gang talks about what you really should expect from WWDC 2012, and gets up close and individual with a 13-inch tablet from Toshiba.
1st up, reviews editor Mike Calore and staff writer Christina Bonnington speak about what we’re expecting to see from Apple’s WWDC keynote Monday morning. WWDC will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and Christina and Gadget Lab editor Jon Phillips will be there reside blogging the occasion. We had been expecting iOS 6 to make its debut (and that has considering that been confirmed by banners at the conference web site), but we’re also betting on OS X Mountain Lion being detailed, Apple introducing a new Maps app, and perhaps a refresh for the entire Mac lineup.
Subsequent, staff writer Nathan Olivarez-Giles joins Mike to take a appear at a new plus-sized Android tablet, the Toshiba Excite 13. Regardless of its unusual size, the tablet is in fact pretty light, and has a wonderful display (even if our unit was marred by a bubble defect). In contrast to a lot of other tablets, it has a great choice of ports, like an SD card reader and HDMI port. It will be accessible for $ 650 with 32GB of storage, and $ 750 for a 64GB model when it lands in shops soon.
