BlackBerry Storm 2 getting ready for BlackBerry OS 6

9570 model turns up purporting to be the Storm 2.5 When your touchscreen only flagship smartphone isn’t smart enough for your all singing all dancing new operating system you’ve got a problem. RIM , the makers of the BlackBerry Smartphone, have it seems moved to update the BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550) with a new beefier model – the BlackBerry Storm 9570. Although the move has yet to be officially confirmed by RIM, that hasn’t stopped a spy shot of the new smartphone being caught in the wilds on the internet. Rumoured to be launching in October, the?BlackBerry Storm?9570 will be the CDMA answer for a touchscreen device with OS 6 claim bbleaks.com who’ve got their hands on the details. The 9570 has 512mb RAM, a 5MP camera, OS 6, and most likely a 624Mhzprocessor. The 9570 will keep the current Storm2 9520/9550 form factor and continue to use the SurePress, Piezo?touchscreen?technology. It also means that if you are getting technical about these things, the image of the Storm 3 we showed you earlier in the week could in fact be the Storm 4. Either way with its CDMA aerial it will be destined for Verizon once again. No word as to whether that means a Vodafone UK release.? UPDATE: More pictures have turned up thanks to BBLeaks.com Read Tags: Phones Mobile phones BlackBerry RIM Storm Storm 2 Storm 3 Storm 4 Verizon

Emotional Backpack For Cyclists, What Fun!

Here is a totally cool backpack that goes by the name of SEIL Bag. It’s a backpack meant for cyclists and features an LED Display (flexible PCB) on its face. The bag is designed to work in two modes: Driving Mode and Emotion Mode. In the Driving Mode it shows left and right turn signals for the rider, which is controlled via a detachable controller. This makes it easy for the following traffic to know the riders intent. The cool-quotient is upped with the Emotion Mode; here you can display a variety of emoticons, just for the heck of it. The bag also displays brake signal, cruse signal and emergency signal; the acceleration sensor detects speed and turns on stop signal automatically. The signals can be controlled intuitively; pushing the lever up, turns on left turn signal and vice versa. A very classy bag with a lot of use, I really dig the emoticon aspect! Electrolux Design Lab Finalists Get Mocked!

Socked! Well don’t be, because this time the mocking is for a good reason. As a part of their competition procedure, Electrolux Design Lab finalists’ designs get fabricated as mock-ups and are displayed at the Electrolux Design Lab booth at the 100% Design London fair. Here is a look at how glossy and sleek these futuristic products can look in our homes. As sketches and renders, it’s difficult to judge how any product will adapt to its environment. Life-size replicas give us a peek at how they will look at home. The engineering and technology bit has been left out for the moment, but then that’s what R&D is there for…we’ll let the techies worry about the workings while we celebrate Product Design!
