How to capture decent 3D from a single lens
The entire entertainment industry sees 3D as the next big thing, but one thing holding it back is it’s difficult to produce. Typically, you need to shoot footage with two different cameras (or at least two different lenses ) simultaneously. Even with today’s sophisticated systems , that’s a tall order. But is there a way to get good 3D material from a single lens? One Canadian company says yes. View full post on DVICE
Uber-Cheap Indian Tablet Debunked: Made in China
The super cheap Indian tablet that the government of India is claiming to have been home grown by top university minds may not be in fact true. Indian website AndroidOS is saying that the tablet is actually a re-badged tablet that was actually made in China by HiVision and was originally demoed at CeBIT this year. The top picture shows the HiVision SpeedPad on the right hand side and India's claim of its originally designed $35 tablet on the left, quickly dropping the credibility of the Indian government. Then again, Google's saying Android is not tablet-ready yet, so perhaps no loss to anyone involved. Apple may be bringing FaceTime to Macs and PCs
Apple’s FaceTime video chat that’s built into iPhones and new iPod Touches is neat, but it’s got a couple of issues holding it back. First, the fact that you need to be on Wi-Fi makes it difficult to predict when someone will be available to FaceTime with you. And having it only work on such a limited number of products makes things tough as well. At least Apple looks to be fixing at least one of these. View full post on DVICE

A Black Steed for Reading
This is one skeletal couch. That’s not to say it’s not comfy and full of love though, because it is! This is the “Bucefalo Sofa” designed by Emanuele Canova for a new generation of book holders and readers. That’s right BOOKS! I’m sure it’ll hold your laptop just fine too. Made to be elegant, simple, stark, and powerful. Like a majestic black horse for you to ride into battle upon. Becefalo is also the name of a legendary horse, a legendary horse with a legendary figure. Black, gigantic, and so powerful only Alexander the Great could tame it. Can you tame such a beast? Perhaps sit upon it and read a book upon it and take a snooze on it? Designer: Emanuele Canova ———- Yanko Design Timeless Designs – Explore wonderful concepts from around the world! Never Ending Pencil
To cut a long story short, what we have here is a simple writing tool called the Continuous Pencil, which can be used till the very end. We usually end up discarding pencil stubs…I know my children waste too many saying that short pencils are uncomfortable to hold. So basically you keep increasing the length of your stubs with a handy interim-headless-long stick that fits snugly into its rear. Quite simple and straight, but is it a refinement of the 1 + 1 Pencil ? The Continuous Pencil won an iF Concept Design this year!
