Samsung Fascinate Known Launch Bugs According to Verizon
No cellphone can ship perfectly with no bugs. Usually it is up to the end users via forums to find and report such bugs. This is not the case with the Samsung Fascinate that launched 2 days ago online and yesterday in stores. In fact a document with all of the know bugs has been shared with the folks at Boy Genius Report. These bugs range from very annoying (call disconnecting if you press the search button) to fairly harmless (no message delete status). Below are some of the more interesting bugs you should check out so you know what to avoid during your first few weeks with the device until they are all patched. Call Disconnect: If you are on a call or in the process of receiving an incoming call and you press the search button the call may be disconnected. Blank Screen: If you are on a call and a second call comes in, you get the correct Caller ID information. If you answer the second call, the caller ID screen goes blank and does not show any caller information. Exchange Security Policy Email Password: There is no ability to change the device password after Exchange security policy is applied. There is no password option in the Location & Security settings menu, only swipe unlock settings Not Available via Wi-Fi: If the device is in WIFI mode you will not be able to access the over the air software update system (FOTA). Same Number Listed Multiple Times: When syncing contacts from multiple sources, contacts with the same name will be combined but the actual numbers are not compared so you may have the same number listed more then once under a contact You can not run the VZnavigator application when in WIFI mode [Via BGR ] ) View full post on Android Community
World’s first HDR video is stunningly gorgeous
HDR photography, like Apple just added to the iPhone with its latest iOS update, combines multiple shots taken at different exposures to create an image that more closely resembles what we see with our eyes. But that’s never been done with video, until now. And the results are absolutely spectacular.

Pentax K-5 DSLR Leak Suggest K-7 Successor
Pentax, which makes great high-end cameras at affordable prices, may have a successor to the aging K-7 DSLR by the name of the K-5, a semi-professional shooter with a rugged chassis. While still not a lot of information is known from the K-5, the camera's body looks mostly identical to the K-7, though the jog dial seems to be taller on the K-5. From the leaked image, it seems that the weather-resistant lens may also be included in the camera kit as well for those who opt for the package. It's also unclear of when Pentax intends on announcing the rumored K-5 as the company just announced the more budget consumer-friendly K-r DSLR. Philips AC-Powered OLED Can Lead to Cheaper OLED Production
Philips is continuing work in its OLED innovation, this time with an AC-powered OLED panel that can be plugged directly into a home wall socket. The significance of this is that traditional OLED planels using Philip's technology could eliminate a large power management circuit to switch from DC power. Eliminating this circuitry would make OLED cheaper to manufacture and would require fewer parts. This in turn could lead to greater adoption of the technology, which thus far has been prohibitively costly in large TV s. Motorola NYXboard QWERTY Remote Takes on TiVo Slide
The TiVo Slide won't be the only QWERTY-enabled living room remote control in time as Motorola, which dominates the cable television set-top boxes, has just announced its NYXboard remote, which packs in a compact QWERTY keyboard on the rear side and a standard cable box remote on the front side. The remote's expected to be available by year's end, though it will most likely be up to cable companies to decide if they want customers to have access to a QWERTY remote. Letting People Know Your Location Via Facebook Places Could Get You Robbed
With location-based services on the rise, and given Facebook 's popularity, its recently launched Facebook Places location check-in feature should make it a good choice for you to let friends and others know where you are. The problem is, when others--those who aren't your friends--know where you are, they also know that you're not home and can burglarize your property. From what seemed to be urban legend to actual incident, the town of Nashua New Hampshire discovered just that: don't broadcast your whereabouts on Facebook, Foursquare or other such services as it could get you robbed. Fifty robberies had occurred in Nashua and local police have caught up with the burglars to discover over $100,000 in stolen property. Lenovo Power Hub Adds USB Hub to ThinkPad Chargers
If you're sick of carrying around a separate USB powered charging hub in addition to your ThinkPad notebook and its charger, then Lenovo has you covered. The company has recently announced a Lenovo Power Hub, which adds 4 USB ports to charge up your phone or other mobile gadgets using your ThinkPad's power brick. The Power Hub connects to your ThinkPad in two spots--to one of your notebook's USB ports and also to your notebook's power port, and can power a notebook that's rated for 65W or 90W. This convenience will cost you $75, but then you get to leave the USB hub, its separate power adapter, and your ThinkPad's power brick at home and can carry just one charger.
