Mad scientists develop Wolverine-like healing factor

Researchers at the University of Columbia have figured out how to get rabbits to regrow damaged bones with artificial implants. The implants are more like scaffolds, which acted as blueprints for healing. The hope is that tech could be used to help humans to the same.

NEWS: iPhone 4: Now available on T-Mobile
Just Three Mobile left now for the latest Apple handset
T-Mobile has opened the door for its iPhone 4 sales.
The network, which becomes the fifth in the UK to offer the device after O2, Vodafone, Orange and Tesco Mobile, will hope that the demand for Apple’s latest baby is still as strong – despite the detrimental coverage it has received because of antennagate.
Price wise, the leaked shot we got of the T-Mobile prices back at the start of July seem pretty much on the money – although the price of the handset is slightly cheaper in places than was first thought.
Obviously, there are only black iPhone 4s available – no carrier is expected to see the white iPhone 4 until later on this year – despite Steve Jobs’ iPhone 4 keynote saying it would be available by the end of July.
If you’re thinking of grabbing yourself an iPhone 4 from T-Mobile be sure to first check out our review. Did it live up to our expectations despite the death grip controversy? All is revealed within.

From Bachelor Pad to iPad
In tough economic times people often have to tighten their belts and eliminate luxury purchases entirely, but for some reason Apple seems immune to this behavior.
Take for example 31 year old Ralph Ronzio, your typical family guy living in Southern California. Ronzio, as reported by Bloomberg, recently fell on some tough economic times and was having trouble meeting the mortgage payments on his condo and house. So what’s a man to do when you can’t pay the mortgage?
Based on advice from a foreclosure agency “You Walk Away”, Ronzio did just that and walked away from his condo and let the bank foreclose. Although Ronzio didn’t like walking away from his condo, saying “It was totally my bachelor pad,” he is taking it in stride. After the bank foreclosed on his condo he decided to take his family to Disneyland and treat himself to a new toy, “I bought myself an iPad.”
Even with these tough economic conditions, people continue to lust for Apple’s latest gadgets. Apple has performed exceptionally well during this economic downturn and posted its highest revenue and profit numbers in the company’s history. Even with the slow economy, they launched the iPad and it turned out to be one of the fastest selling tech products in the history of the industry with over 1 million units sold per month.
It just goes to show you, a good product and some “magical” marketing will do wonders to help stimulate the economy.

LG Android Tablet a Bit Late, Coming Fourth Quarter 2010
We just told you that Samsung has a tablet coming out. Furthermore, we divulged that the company plans on releasing it in the third quarter of this year. And, from what we already know about it (it’s the Galaxy Tab, mind you), we are pretty excited about it. Not to be left in the wind, LG Electronics has come forward and said that they, too, will have an Android-based tablet made available this year. But, it’s not coming out until the fourth quarter. The LG tablet is going to launch as part of the manufacturer’s “Optimus” brand, which isn’t a bad thing at all. However, there are no other details about the tablet. We don’t know how big it will be, what version of Android it will run, or what kind of processor will be powering it. Basically, none of the important things. Sure, we don’t know any of that about the Samsung version, either, but we do know the Galaxy S devices it is based off of, so that’s good enough for us. The only thing that could be good for LG in this move, is the fact that it will be the holiday shopping season when the LG Android Optimus tablet launches. Actually, if they use Optimus all over the place, and make it work with the whole “Android” system, there’s probably plenty of Transformers fanboys (and girls) out there that will just melt because of that. We’re just saying. [ via Boy Genius Report] ) View full post on Android Community
Android Market Reaches 100,000 Submitted Apps, Maybe
The Android Market is exploding. It just seems like weeks ago that we were talking about it reaching only 60,000 apps. Oh, wait. That was only weeks ago. So, yes, we can safely say that the Android Market is exploding, and it’s only going to get better. Today, Google can mark off another milestone, as the Market has apparently reached 100,000 submitted applications into their open market. However, there’s a bit of an exception here. First, these numbers are coming from the unofficial AndroLib, which uses their software to track applications in many markets. It’s not solely watching the official Android Market. However, they are quick to point out the other tid-bit: that’s 100,000 submitted applications. The count of actually available apps is lower, at 83,000. That seems a bit more reasonable, but hey, if their numbers are correct and Google has officially reached that milestone, then they deserve a big congratulations. Start patting people on the back, folks. [ via Android Police] ) View full post on Android Community
Tape Measure with built-in calculator

When you’re measuring several items at a time, sometimes it’s hard to remember all of the necessary numbers. If you tend to forget that information often, you might want to consider buying a tape measure that can actually help you remember those numbers. This one has a handy little notepad right inside of the tape measure for you to write down all of your important information. Plus, if you need to do some math for a large project, it has a calculator too.
The calculator and the notepad stay hidden within. That’ll make it so that you don’t get the calculator and notepad quite so filled with sawdust while you’re messing with any woodworking. Sure, the whole design isn’t the most expensive out there, but it would do the trick. The tape measure itself can measure up to 10 feet long. The calculator comes with the required batteries and the tape measure with that very necessary belt clip. You can pick up the whole thing for $12.98.
