Madden NFL 11 Coming to Your iPad
If you’re an American football fan, EA Mobile has released details about Madden NFL 11. The game will be available on your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
The game has not been released yet. But, the upcoming title is ready to take advantage of your iPad. Expect a game with noticeable graphical updates and an experience that will take visual details up a notch.
From what we’ve seen the game comes with high resolution images everywhere. Fans around each stadium will look much more real. The game brings expanded football routes making sure that you can modify plays on both offense and defense by tracing new routes with a finger on the touchscreen.
For example, the game will allow you to edit your plays on the fly by simply drawing a line from a player on your team to perform a specific play designed by you. You can design a defensive scheme to focus your defensive line on one player on the opposite team. All you need to do is draw a line from each player to the desired opposite team’s player and the attention will be drawn to that opposing player.
Madden NFL 11 will keep the game moving by automatically calling out plays based on plays you frequently use. EA Mobile has also indicated the game will include a “GameFlow” feature that will enable more time on the field. This feature will avoid you to navigate through endless menus selecting plays. The game is supposed to choose the best play for you taking into consideration field position, score, and more.
Gentlemen, Stop Your Engines
Clever engineering makes Porsche’s hybrid genuinely efficient Few vehicles flaunt their gas-chugging power as proudly as a Porsche Cayenne, so it’s natural to be suspicious of the hybrid version. Can this racecar-like SUV really improve gas mileage and still be a Porsche? Thanks to several technological tweaks, yes. First, a more-efficient supercharged 3.0-liter V6 replaces the V8. The gas engine is paired with a 47-horsepower electric motor, and the two are linked with a decoupling clutch, so either one can run the vehicle independently. The motor is capable of handling the load alone at up to 37 mph. Together the pair flings the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. Yet the hybrid gets an estimated 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, a 25 and 14 percent gain over the non-hybrid version. It also does tricks: At up to 97 mph, when you take your foot off the accelerator, the engine disengages from the drivetrain and shuts down. Here’s how this “sailing” mode lets you briefly zoom without any power at all. How to Drive Gas-Free at High Speeds Lift Off the Gas Pedal… when coasting at high speeds, and the gas engine powers down. A decoupling clutch disconnects the gasoline engine from the electric motor and the rest of the drivetrain, freeing the drivetrain from the drag that the powered-down engine places on it and allowing you to coast farther, fuel-free. Coast… powered by unhindered momentum. In this mode, which Porsche calls “sailing,” the electric motor runs in reverse, acting as a generator that harvests kinetic energy to recharge the hybrid system’s nickel-metal-hydride rear battery. Punch It… to speed up again. A computer coordinates the transition back to gas power. The decoupling clutch reconnects the gas engine to the drivetrain within 300 milliseconds, and the electric motor provides an additional boost for highway acceleration without a perceptible lag. NEWS: BlackBerry 6: Media enhancements aplenty
More details of RIM’s forthcoming OS unveiled By the time BlackBerry 6 gets here, we’ll all be experts. We’ll know it inside out. After all, it seems like RIM is feeding us small pieces of it at a time, and really dragging it out. The latest details to be drip-fed to us are regarding the multimedia aspects of BlackBerry 6, which we have to say, look pretty swanky (and a bit Appley?). First up, there’s a new podcast app that RIM will hope rivals iTunes for searching and subscribing to both audio and video podcasts. For your music there has been a shake up in the way BlackBerry’s OS deals with album artwork. Using BlackBerry Sync album artwork is automatically added and you’ll be able to flick through your albums with an iPod style artwork carousel. Words such as album titles and artist’s names are also click-able so you can see other related tunes. Video viewing on your BlackBerry has also been improved. You will be able to use a thumbnail view. You can choose to play the video in various different sizes and you can upload your own vids directly to YouTube. There’s also a new video search function as well. With the BlackBerry camera controls RIM says that it: “focused on perfecting the point and shoot experience”. For this it has added a better on screen display with easier to select options and there will also be video shooting available as well. RIM has also made it easier to get the latest media apps on your device. Simply search the App World from within the media player and you shouldn’t miss out on the newest music, video or picture apps. We’re expecting to see BlackBerry 6 on RIM’s new lineup - which we’ve reported on in the past - and it could also possibly appear on an upcoming RIM 7-inch tablet . Some existing BlackBerry devices will also be able to upgrade to the new OS, although it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet which ones.? Are you a BlackBerry user? Is BlackBerry 6 a game-changer? Or is it an Apple RIM-off? Give us your first impressions of the new OS below. Read Tags: Phones Mobile phones BlackBerry BlackBerry 6 RIM Operating Systems
