BA Financial Calculator for the iPad
With mortgage rates at record lows, many people are looking to either purchase a new home or refinance the one they’re in now. If you’re in real estate (or any other finance related business or studies), you might want to check on the new BA Financial Calculator for iPad from California-based Vicinno Soft. Complete with a cup of coffee, note pads and a crumbled up piece of paper, BA Financial Calculator is designed to emulate the business standard Texas Instruments Business Analyst II Plus, this app contains the same layout, functions, algorithms, capabilities and key sequences. It also has two modes of operation: standard calculator and worksheet. The standard calculator mode includes common mathematical operations, problems involving the time value of money and trigonometric functions. Worksheet mode provides step-by-step instructions for calculating more complicated equations including amortization, depreciation, bond, and compound interest. All entries and results are saved in working memory providing easy access to recurring values. Unlike the TI calculator, the numerical keypad on the iPad version is light gray with white numerals, its function keys are black with white symbols, and alternate characters are above each key in orange. The only option for the keypad is English but users are able to access operating manuals in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, and Finnish from within the app. Additional features include: Time-Value-of-Money calculations Amortization schedules Cash-Flow Analysis, Net Present Value, and Internal Rate of Return Depreciation with four different methodologies Break even, profit, and percent difference calculations Bond prices and yields “to maturity” or “to call” calculations 10 Memories for storage Choice of Chain and Algebraic Operating System methods Scientific capabilities, including log, sin, cos, etc. Key click sounds enabled via Settings If you’re studying accounting, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, sciences, statistics or you just need a great financial calculator to use on the go without carrying an extra device, give BA Financial Calculator for iPad a try. Droptext Adds Dropbox Text Editing for iPad
If you use the cloud storage service Dropbox and own an iPad, then you should check out Droptext . It’s a new app that was released yesterday. Since we’ve been receiving questions via our “info” email address, let me introduce some of our new readers to both apps. In case you’re not familiar with Dropbox , it’s a cloud service that offers 2GB of free space for your files. It automatically syncs your cloud storage space with the folder of your choice on your Mac or PC. It’s a great service for your iPad since it gives you an area where you can drop files for later viewing while on the go, as long as you’re connected via 3G or WiFi. Droptext is an iOS application that allows you to open, edit and save directly within your Dropbox account. In addition to standard text files, the application allows you to open any file with a text-based mime type, such as HTML files, PHP scripts, and C programming code. Viewing of other non-text-based file types is not supported at this time. However, given that Droptext is a new addition to the App Store, and the app works well, we expect the developer to add more functionality later on. Droptext is available on the App Store for $0.99 . It’s a universal app, which means it will work on your iPad and your iPhone. VIDEO: 200 Dacia Cars Destroyed
A freight train carrying new Romanian Dacia to France derailed yesterday in Austria. There are 200 new Dacia’s Logan , Sandero and Duster cars were destroyed or damaged (the number of cars damaged is yet unconfirmed, between 100 and 200). The accident took place at 60 km/h (37 mph). At one point, 10 of the 16 carts of the train came off the rails and rolled over, leaving the others slide for the next 100 meters and subsequently do the same. Initial information points to the brakes, which failed to work properly. Below is a Euronews video showing the efforts made to clear the track and the extent of the damage suffered by the cars being transported to France. 2011 Honda Odyssey
Honda has pulled the first official photos of its all-new Honda Odyssey eight-seater minivan. The new styling and the 1.6-inches lower roofline give new Odyssey more character and presence over the current model.
The 2011 model is said to be wider over the current 2010 Odyssey and promises to be more functional and roomy with better interior lighting.
New interior features include an available entertainment technology that introduces high-definition connectivity and split-screen viewing.
The 2011 Honda Odyssey will be offered at least with 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine. Honda estimating a fuel economy for new Odyssey of 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
Honda Odyssey minivan that will begin arriving in U.S. showrooms this fall.

Apple Launches Friend Bar
Apple has received a lot of praise for their customer support and one of their main customer support tools is the engaging Genius Bar in all Apple Retail locations. According to the Onion News Network, Apple has launched the Friend Bar for Apple obsessed fans who want someone to talk to about Apple related topics. The service is free for anyone with an Apple Care warranty and is already a hit with Apple users who have scheduled appointments.
If you’re thinking this can’t be true, don’t worry this is all a gag brought to you buy the folks from the Onion. The strange thing is, we can see a service like this actually being a hit with Apple fanboys and fangirls.
