Samsung Captivate’s Retail Package and Phone Pose for Camera
Samsung Captivate will be released on July 18th, but if you were aching to see what the box would look like, here you go. And, even if you’ve seen plenty of pictures of what the device would look like from “official channels,” it’s time to see what it looks like out of the box and in the hand of a “regular person.” Fortunately, it still looks just as good.

The box does well to showcase that while the phone’s called the Captivate, it’s still a Samsung Galaxy S device. So, it’s good to see they’re keeping with the marketing scheme. As for the phone itself, it’s certainly shiny enough to catch the eye, isn’t it? And there’s certainly nothing wrong with that.

The iPad Effect On Other Devices
Despite the fact that the iPad has been positioned as a device mostly designed to consume content (web, videos, music…), and was initially seen as a “niche” product by many, a Resolve Market Research (RMR) report looking at how people are using their iPads reveals that the device is popular with a much larger base than other Apple products, and that the iPad is getting used in more ways than initially thought.
RMR found that 37 percent of people who owned or were about to buy an iPad were new Apple customers, and that despite the success of other Apple products such as the iPhone or the Mac product line, the iPad seems to have managed to “conquer” a much more diversified audience than other Apple devices.

RMR also discovered that the iPad is helping Apple slowly but surely take business away from other, more specialized device makers, as 49 percent of iPad users said they would not be buying an e-reader now that they own an iPad. Same goes for the portable consoles and laptop/netbook markets, with a whopping 38 percent of iPad users not interested in buying a portable gaming device and, a 32 percent of iPad owners not in the market for a laptop or netbook because of their iPad.

Gameboy iPhone 4 case
What you see here is a definite labor of love. This enterprising person decided that the iPhone 4, being all modern could very well be married to something retro, to the tune of the ancient Nintendo Gameboy. Touted to be the Original Gameboy iPhone 4 case, it might very well be the first of its kind in the world. The actual Gameboy was cut open at the top so that enough space could be created to squeeze in the spanking new iPhone 4, although we do hope that the cut sides have been filed properly so that your precious Apple smartphone won’t be scratched all too easily. Since the Gameboy’s display is much smaller than the iPhone 4’s, you can only see the time through the case, hence limiting the use of the iPhone 4 by some. Of course, getting the phone out of the case is a little bit more tricky. It is a nice touch to see the battery compartment being used to store a pair of headphones if you know how to roll up the wires correctly.

Squirt Battle Flotilla

If only the Turks and Israelis were this buddy-like when approaching the latter’s shores, with the Squirt Battle Flotilla floating across peacefully to deliver some laughs instead of getting boarded and assaulted. We don’t mean to demean the deceased, but the world could do with a whole lot more love and peace, don’t you think so? This floating battle system will see a couple of kids in mobile squirt vessels to go up against another two children who are required to defend a stationary squirt platform. Since these are inflatable vessels, you might want to purchase an air pump instead of relying on lung power alone which will probably have you end up at the hospital instead from a collapsed lung. Each of these will come with two built-in squirt jets, and are powered by the same principle employed in spray bottles so you won’t have to worry about battery issues. Water is drawn from siphons and will be extended into the water below. All squirt jets can be rotated 360º, so that you will be able to fire at your opponent regardless of the direction. The platform supports up to 225 lbs of weight, while the boat does 150 lbs. Enjoy some summer fun for $79.95!

Callpod Onyx and Vetro Bluetooth headsets have superb range

Both the Callpod Onyx and Vetro Bluetooth 2.0 headsets are very different from the rest simply because they are not limited to the traditional 10-meter range that most Bluetooth headsets come with, but will instead boast five times the reach, surpassing even 50 meters under ideal conditions. Not only that, both models will also sport 2-Way Walkie-Talkie and Dual-Mic Noise Suppression technology for crystal clear conversations to make sure that nothing gets lost, an important factor to consider if you’re a business person who is constantly on the go and need to get your message across in a concise and accurate manner regardless of the environment you’re in. More on both Bluetooth headsets in the extended post.
As mentioned earlier, both the Onyx and Vetro Bluetooth headsets are able to work flawlessly within a 164 ft (50m) range, although we are assuming that this means not having interfering factors such as thick concrete walls, but rather, being in an open field/space without any obstructions. This fivefold increase in range (theoretically) will enable users to roam around the office or home without the limitation of being tethered to their cellphone. Apart from that, the Onyx and Vetro will also play nice with your PC or Mac when it comes to holding Skype calls, letting you switch between the computer and cellphone with but a press of a button.
To further save money on your monthly phone bill, why not equip the entire office with the Onyx and Vetro? After all, they can be used with other Vetro, Onyx or Dragon V2 headsets for two-way or push to talk communication, as long as you remain within a reasonable connection distance. Of course, one might argue that using the built-in PABX system is good enough, but what about those moments when you’re not sure where your colleague is, and you call his or her cellphone? Taking around 3 hours for a full charge, you get up to 5 hours talk time and over 120 hours on standby with either headset. The Onyx and Vetro will retail for $69.95 and $99.95, respectively just in case you’re interested.
