New iPad Ready Printers from HP

HP is well know for its printers but they have also been aggressively pursuing the mobile space with their Windows tablets and their recent acquisition of Palm and its WebOS. With this push into mobile computing, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that printing support would be one of the first things HP would cover. HP recently announced a range of printers supporting ePrint , a technology which allows you to e-mail attachments to your printer and have the documents automatically printed. To get this magic to work, you have to register the printer with HP’s cloud service when it will then be assigned an e-mail address to send documents for printing. With the printer’s built in WiFi support and the fact that ePrint does not require a print driver, these printers are a great solution for iPad and iPhone owners. You can now wirelessly print without having to purchase or install additional apps on your iOS device. According to HP, the ePrint service can print images, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, PDFs, and photos. The free service is initially available on four HP printers (HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One, HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One, HP Photosmart e-All-in-One and the HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One) and prices start at $99. Verizon Current Commercial shows Droid X, Droid 2 Makes a Brief Sliding Appearance

Verizon has comes up with the newest commercial called Towers. Although, this commercial is a whole new twist by Verizon. The focus of this commercial seems really clear and straight forward. They are talking about the connection of Verizon Wireless. Verizon change their logo and slogan (Rule The Air) in the end of the commercial. However, this commercial doesn’t seems to be only for Droid X to appeared because in the last section of the commercial a man is walking to his car, and he slides a landscape slider closed. The belief is that this is the Droid 2. There’s no way for us to confirm this, especially with the camera angle, but we can dream. The main problem about this commercial is that Verizon did not directly indicate what kind of phone that they are promoting. They seems to focused only about their wireless connection. Overall this commercial seems okay. The Droid X makes an appearance, but the commercial’s obviously about Ruling the Air. Droid X looks marvelous in this commercial. When the girl pulled it out of her pocket, the camera directly pointed to this gigantic screen phone. The size of the screen is 4.3-inch which enough for me to watch my YouTube video anytime. The QWERTY slide keyboard is expected to appear on low-end tariffs similar to the X10 Mini. With a keyboard that small it will be interesting to see how hard it will be, but at least it’s an improvement over the original X10’s numeric only keypad. Vodafone has given out an X10 Mini Pro, any information on it should be asked to them.

Hulu Plus Subscription Service for the iPad Unveiled

plus landing mast logo Hulu Plus Subscription Service for the iPad Unveiled

Hulu just announced they will offer a subscription TV service giving users access to an even deeper set of TV content over a number of new devices. The new service,  dubbed Hulu Plus,  gives subscribers access to full seasons of their favorite TV shows versus just a few recent episodes that you normally find on Hulu’s free service.

Hulu Plus now supports the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and provides 720p HD quality video streamed over either WiFi or 3G.  The Hulu Plus service will cost $9.99 per month and although the service will continue to be ad supported, there is no word if the number of ads per episode will be kept at the same level as Hulu’s free service.

Jason Kilar, Hulu’s CEO,  is excited about the new service and said “you can always pull up Hulu Plus on your laptop, but starting today you can access Hulu content via Wi-Fi or 3G on another device: the Apple iPad. I’ve been watching Hulu on my iPad for several weeks now, and I’ve watched more TV through the iPad than any other device.”

If you’re interested in signing up for the service, it is on an invitation only basis for now but will “soon” be opened up for everyone to subscribe.

Update: The free Hulu Plus app is now available in the Apple App store

Oscar the Bionic Cat

croppedcat 300x195 Oscar the Bionic CatOscar is a New Jersey cat who recently suffered an accident. A combine harvester ran over him while he was napping, and his two back legs were severed.

Fortunately, there is bionics. Noel Fitzpatrick, a vet from Surrey, England, realized that Oscar was the perfect candidate for new procedure.

I have a video after the jump so you can see the cat for yourself, and it shows that the metal rods in Oscar’s back paws have bonded with his skin. The body doesn’t seem to be rejecting them.

The video shows Oscar on these intrasseous trascutaneous amputation prosthetics (ITAPs). You can see that he looks a little awkward on his bionic feet. He will apparently get more realistic feet before too long.

Okay, this is about time for me to make Six Million Dollar Cat jokes. Here’s one that might not come off well on paper. You know that sound the Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman used to make when they used their bionic powers? You know, when they were moving in slowmo which indicated that they were moving really, really fast?

Just picture Oscar jumping while making that sound. Only the sound is a cat’s angry hiss, like Fft-fft-fft-fft and then jumping over a building or something. It’s hysterical if you get it.
