Tesla future models – Click above for more slides from the road show
Slide #19 of Musk’s Powerpoint gives us the first glimpse of what might come after the Model S, which includes a cabriolet, van and crossover. All will be built on a common platform with the Model S and will mount the battery pack under the floor in a similar manner to the Nissan Leaf. The cabriolet, in particular, is quite the stunner and should provide a real competitor to the Fisker Karma Sunset.
Among the other changes that Musk revealed are liquid-cooled power electronics and motor starting with the Model S. While this will add to the cost and complexity of the powertrain, it should help improve the overall efficiency and overcome some of the limiting factors that were found late in the development of the Roadster. The full Tesla prospectus is available here and you can watch the Road Show here.

We came away from the Italian GP round with the feeling that anything was possible. The season had settled into a blistering pace and drama had definitely begun to unfold. Departure from Mugello left many heads spinning as we saw defending champ Valentino Rossi leave on a stretcher following a nasty get-off and the subsequent end of Yamaha’s ownership of the top spot on the podium. We have a feeling that did not sit too well with the boys in blue, as Jorge Lorenzo showed up at Silverstone to put a punctuation on his championship points lead… a 6.743 second punctuation to be exact!
The race launch gave birth to a hungry pack of racers, and although Lorenzo held the top honors, there would be no runaway (at least not at first) as Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa gave early chase with the lead swapping between riders as early as lap one. As the laps ticked off though, Jorge had found his way to a comfortable lead, leaving the real battles behind him. Andrea Dovisioso and Randy de Puniet pushed hard to round out the podium, while a pair of patient young Americans named Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies lay in wait just outside the top three.
As the rubber boiled in Great Britain and the laps wound down to just three, Dovisioso made his move pulling away from the battle with de Puniet. Just as this was happening, Spies also found his speed and was able to make another pass stick on the Frenchman, riding inside the top three for the first time this year. Nicky Hayden also managed to put his Ducati in front of de Puniet and would pass the checkers in the number four spot for the fourth time since Qatar. After suffering an extremely poor start and having to work his way up the ranks from the very last position, Casey Stoner pulled up the caboose of the train that would pass de Puniet prior to the finish line and round out the top five.
So there we have it folks, Jorge Lorenzo is taking care of business, both for Yamaha and for his championship hopes. Andrea Dovisioso is quickly becoming a solid runner up, and all the while Ben Spies finally found his groove and got a bottle of champagne in the process. We can only hope Hayden can break his fourth place curse one of these rounds. As for his teammate Casey Stoner… well, his results remain marginal at best this season, and it remains to be seen if that is going to change.
Next stop: the Netherlands. We can only imagine that it is still anyone’s game at Catalunya! Click past the break for the top ten results.
Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G to receive new software update
The HTC EVO received a bug fix update right at launch and another one has been discovered. It’s been told that a software problem for screen responsive problems is coming. Also the WiFi singnal strength might be tweaked also.

Engadget has been told that the issue involving the screen slightly separating is a cosmetic problem and shouldn’t interfere with the phone itself. Instances of this are not widespread and that HTC is fixing the phone to make sure this won’t occur again in the future. We think this is a pretty good response to the updates the phone has had to receive.

EyeTV Available On Your iPad Now!
A new version of EyeTV (v1.1.0) has been released on the App Store. This was originally an iPhone application that allows EyeTV Mac and PC users to stream live and recorded TV on your mobile device. The new release includes support for your iPad.
The new app has been optimized for your iPad, and it also includes separate bit-rate for WiFi, local Wifi, and 3G. If you want to use it on your local Wi-Fi network no configuration is needed, just enable access from EyeTV for iPad in EyeTV’s Preferences window. EyeTV will use port 2170.
If you already own the iPhone version, there is some good news for you. By simply updating to v.1.1.0 the app will add iPad support at not charge.
If you’re not sure you want t buy this app, you can also try the stripped-down version (free of charge) of EyeTV, called Live3G. The stripped-down version enables you to stream live television over a 3G connection to your iPad. Live3G’s web app runs in the Safari browser on your iPad so you can watch live TV and EyeTV recordings anywhere. It’s free, and it’s a good way to test your router’s compatibility before buying the EyeTV app.
Keep in mind that if you’re planning to stream live TV on your iPad via the EyeTV app, you need to purchase the Mac or PC version of the product. Owning the EyeTV app isn’t enough to watch TV while on the go.

doubleTwist Will Support Internal Storage Soon
If you have an HTC Incredible or Samsung Galaxy S, you will find that currently doubleTwist doesn’t support files that are stored on your internal memory. This will change soon according to doubleTwist. Their app is currently being updated to take advantage of handsets with internal storage. Expect more developers to start adding support for internal storage into their apps. Initially, this feature was not needed as most android devices only utilized the SD card for storage. The internal memory of most Android devices was not big enough to handle the storage of music or movies. More and more Android handsets will be released in the coming months that will have ample onboard memory as well as SD card slots. This update can’t come fast enough for most Incredible owners. We’ll let you know when this update is ready for download. [ via talkandroid] ) View full post on Android Community
