These are great for those of you that like to see the internals of the phone. It may also aid in repair if you wish to tackle it yourself. artcarfordgt009opt BMW Art Car and all female Ford GT out of Le MansArtist Jeff Koons’ special paint scheme is now the only thing that makes the #79 BMW M3 GT2 Art Car look like it’s moving. Just after starting the sixth hour of the 24 hours of Le Mans, the BMW was crawling around the track for the third time. Andy Priaulx pulled off the course onto the grass and began swerving back and forth as though he was out of fuel. Unfortunately, it was to no avail as the M3 rolled to a stop for good. The marshals pushed the car behind the guardrail and Priaulx set off on foot for the pits.

Meanwhile in GT1, the all-female team of Natacha Gachnang, Cyndie Allemann and Rahel Frey have finished their race in the #61 Ford GT as well. At about the same time the BMW Art Car gave up the ghost, Gachnang pulled over right in front of the marshal’s stand at the Mulsanne corner with thick smoke pouring out of the Ford. Gachnang, who has been limping on crutches all week, was able to crawl out of the car just as the marshals arrived with fire extinguishers. At this point, we haven’t heard the cause of the fire.

AndSpot an Independent App Store

Another market alternative has entered the Android arena. It is called AndSpot, its goal is to provide an alternative to the Android Market all while improving on some of the things the android market is lacking. If you don’t like or find that the Android Market is hard to navigate, this could be the solution you was looking for.

“Google’s Android Market is slow and not as user friendly as it can be, you don’t leave the Market thinking ‘this is great.’ Instead you are thinking, this is slow, clunky, and if you are a developer, ‘my app is not getting much exposure.’”

iPads and iPhones Rise Up!

terminator movie poster iPads and iPhones Rise Up!We’ve always known that the machines would rise up and take over the world, we just never thought it was going to be an Apple product behind the uprising.  The Mac Pro has always been a little suspicious but who would have thought it would be the iPad and iPhone.

Here’s hoping Skynet doesn’t see this and enlist iPads and iPhones in their evil army. If your name is Sarah or John Conner, you might want to keep your eyes on your favorite gadgets, you never know what they might do.

720p Video Sample, Samsung Galaxy S

Not to be outdone by other smart phones that will be introduced into the market, the Galaxy S is capable of 720p video recording as well. This sample looks awesome, you can’t even tell this video is from a cell phone. This is just another awesome feature of the Galaxy s being displayed. This video was taken in HD 720p (1280 × 720 pixels) 30 fps. If the camera had video stabilization features this would be a perfect video. But by cell phone standards, it’s one of the best I’ve seen. Is this video taken by the 5MP camera good enough for you? Some people may shy away from this phone due to the lack of camera flash but I think if you let that deter you from buying this phone, you would be doing yourself a great disservice. This is what the first-ever Porsche 911 Turbo looks like today

1973 Porsche 911 Turbo factory prototype

Some people attending the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance last weekend walked past this Porsche 911 Turbo, giving it nary a glance. After all, it was tucked a little out of the way, and even with its tweaked bodywork and decals, if you’ve seen one 911 Turbo, you’ve seen them all, right? Well, no. Anyone who paused long enough to read the info card owner Murray Smith placed front of the car learned that, in fact, this Turbo is more special than others. You see, it was the prototype – the first factory-turbocharged Porsche 911 road car, period.

As the story goes, it began life as a regular ‘73 911S company car driven by Porsche chief engineer Helmuth Bott. From there, it won the Porsche genetics lottery when it was sucked into the automaker’s experimental program to serve as the basis for the Turbo. As such, it became the first roadgoing Porsche 911 to get the turbo engine, along with the now-famous widebody treatment and whaletail.

Once its developmental role was complete, it became the 911 Turbo display car for the Paris, Frankfurt, and Tokyo motor shows, but the story doesn’t end there. Following a subsequent factory RSR conversion, this 911 Turbo was raced by Aussie Porsche importer Alan Hamilton during the mid-1970s. The icing on the cake for us came at the day’s conclusion, when we got to hear the car fire up and get in line for the procession past the podium. It sounded like God on speakerphone. For a 911 with this provenance, that seemed entirely appropriate.
