ChangeWave Survey Reveals iPad Customer Satisfaction

A survey of more than 3,100 consumers in May by research firm ChangeWave has found that 20% were either very likely or somewhat likely to buy an iPad, up from 13% who responded the same in February before the Apple device was released. The iPad already accounts for 16% of the e-reader market. If you look at the following table, the iPad is only second to the Amazon Kindle (62%). And, this number will probably keep increasing given the number of iPads that have been sold (over 1 million units) since its launch. Based on the research, it seems that most of you e-readers, to be exact 50%, like to read newspapers on your iPad, compared to just 14% of all other e-Reader owners. In addition, 38% of iPad e-readers like to read magazines, compared to 11% of all other e-reader owners. So it seems the iPad features, look and feel have allowed you to start exploring new ways to read. ChangeWave interviewed a total of 153 iPad owners. More than 90% of those interviewed said they were very satisfied (74%) or somewhat satisfied (17%) with their new toy. But, what about the “dislikes”? The usual suspects were the lack of Adobe Flash support (11%) and Internet connectivity problems (9%). But, something tells me these numbers will quickly decrease. We all know about many sites and magazines that already support or will make the move to HTML5. And, Wi-Fi connection problems should be fixed very soon . The iPad owners are surfing the Internet (83%) and checking email (71%). In addition, 56% report they are using apps from the App Store, and 48% say they are watching videos. I suspect that as the iPad continues to penetrate the household market, the video consumption percentage will increase. If it is not you, certainly your kids/teenagers will get on YouTube, download movies, or simply watch their favorite shows wherever they go. These numbers show the iPad’s multiple roles in your life. Perhaps, all of you are already seeing the way the iPad is becoming a convergent device. Are you satisfied with your iPad? Believe it or not, your newly-upgraded Nexus One isn’t the first Android smartphone to have Adobe Flash video capability, nor even the first to play said content on a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU — Europe’s been rocking the HTC Desire since April, which sports a little something called Flash Lite even on the older Android 2.1 OS. The open-source Pandora handheld has had a long and arduous time to market, but the days of delay are apparently at an end. You gaze upon the very first Pandora off the assembly line — the fruit of over two years labor — and project leaders are presently shipping out the rest of the first completed batch, with scores if not hundreds already on the way. GP32X forum mod X68000 got this unit for his help in construction, which means you can see Pandora’s box literally opened at our source link (har har) . Puns not your thing? Spot a batch of handhelds at the soldering station instead, right after the break.

Radio Shack stores getting WiMAX upgrades ahead of Evo launch?

While there’s certainly plenty to love about HTC’s EVO 4G, that 4G in the title is certainly one of the major draws. We’re guessing it’ll be a little easier to sell the things if customers can experience the wonders of WiMAX for themselves, so that’s probably why RadioShack is (according to our tipster) installing these Clearwire WiMAX repeaters in at least some of its stores ahead of the May 30 June 4 launch of the phone there. This will effectively turn The Shack into 4G hotspots and, while we’re not sure of the range of these bad boys, this is a good thing even if it extends the reach of WiMAX just a few feet further into our lives. Another picture after the break. ( Source )

Code Organ Translates Websites Into Music!

There could be music inspired by situations, people and other factors. However have you ever given a thought about music being inspired by websites? Well, the Code Organ is a web app that analyzes the content of a website and decides which notes to play and creates a jingle that is most apt to the website.

code organ Code Organ Translates Websites Into Music!

It analyses the “body” content of web pages and that is translated into music. Using a complex algorithm, it creates music to define the website in terms of key, synth style and drum pattern.

All you would need to do in order to “understand” a website musically is, just type the address of any given site in the space provided and within a matter of few seconds the Code Organ analyzes the content of the website and begins to play music. Of course, before trying this site make sure you have your headphone with you or that the speakers are turned on. It is a good way to kill time during a boring Sunday afternoon when all you would want is something to occupy your idle mind.

The music sounds rather simple and minimalist but with time the developers could add more notes, complex drums and cooler synths. You can watch the video below or even play this particular page…which is short but catchy. For a longer tune, you could visit their site and place a home page url, and it would create a variety of sounds you may truly appreciate. We saw cool various music players and synthesizers before, as can be found with the Syncomasher, the Drum Keyboard or even learning How To Play Piano with Your Keyboard.
