Harbor Master HD – App Review
Want to pickup a cool new game to play on your iPad? How about for free? If you’re short on funds this weekend, go to the iTunes App Store and get yourself a copy of “ Harbor Master HD “. c Studio’s is offering the iPad version of their popular iPhone game for free. The game is easy to learn and addictive to play. If you’re familiar with games such as Firemint’s “ Flight Control ” or Game Gato’s “ Valet LE ” then you’ll feel right at home with “ Harbor Master HD .” In the game, you’re the harbor master and are responsible for guiding boats to their appropriate docks and unloading cargo before sending them on their way. The game has up to six docks and two cargo types so it can quickly become challenging keeping all the action straight and not crashing your ships. If you think it sounds easy to master, trust me it’s a challenge. We loved the game on the iPhone and the iPad version is even better with new features, better graphics and a brand new map called “Treasure Island.” I particularly like the ability to play with a friend on the same iPad thanks to the game’s multitouch support. You can also store multiple player profiles for the game which makes life easier if you share the device with friends or family. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the App Store and get yourself a free copy for your iPad. Harbor Master HD is a great game that will keep you busy for hours! BT Launching An iPad Rival?
We have already heard about Google and Verizon working on what many would like to call an “iPad Killer”. Well, it seems they are not the only ones thinking about trying to ride the successful wave that Apple has created with the iPad. UK-based wireless provider British Telecom (BT) recently revealed plans to create a portable tablet PC. However, chief executive Ian Livingston has made it clear the new device will not be an “iPad Killer”. The unnamed device was shown off at a demo in London, but details are not yet known. Livingston has also explained the BT device is targeted as a home device. It is supposed to be used around the home and not be carried around like an iPad, suggesting it may only have Wi-Fi and no 3G data access. The device is supposed to start selling next year, as it seeks people to dump their mobile phones when they get home and turn instead to a touchscreen version of the traditional land-line telephone. According to reports, the device will have a screen size between an iPhone’s 3.5-inch display and an iPad’s 9.7-inch screen. An interesting feature is the capability to make phone calls through a connected Bluetooth headset or an integrated speaker, and it will also have email, web browsing and text messaging features. “Some people have called it an ‘iPad killer’, but not us,” Livingston said. “We see it as is a new device that would be in the kitchen or the lounge, so that you have all your communications in one place – your email, your voicemail, your text messages.” BT also announced plans for an on-demand gaming service that would allow people to play the latest titles without the need for a games console. Games will be streamed over the Internet via the customer’s broadband connection, allowing them to play online. But, will this new device take off? Should BT also create an iPad app? Just look at what Comcast is doing in the U.S. with the iPad. It remains to be seen how other tablet-like devices will do in the coming months. The demand for the iPad in the U.S. and overseas continues to be strong. Is it safe to assume that every household will want to have multiple tablet-like devices? What do you think? Do you plan to have multiple iPads, or simply wait for other tablets? Tags : BT iPad , BT ipad killer , BT ipad rival Category : iPad News Powered by WizardRSS | Full Text RSS Feeds
